Turning 20 has made me realise that facing the world can be intimidating. I’m not a “child” anymore, which means I’m now responsible for my decisions, the path I choose, and myself.
It is so challenging. There are many expectations to be met and responsibilities to be fulfilled. I have to start thinking about my career, making a name for myself and handling bills(ah! I’m just a girl, damn😔)
However, there are things I look forward to🤭, including building my perfume collection and developing my writing and finance skills.
Facing this has made me realise that if I could go back in time, I’d have started early, so while you have the opportunity now, handle it with care cause it only happens now. There is more to fun than smoking, drinking and partying. While they are short-term fun, they could hold you back from reaching your full potential.
Learn more about yourself, what you value and what you want to achieve. Fun can be redefined, and you don't have to smoke or drink to be considered “cool” or “fun”. You know what is cool? Developing yourself
Don't get caught up in the superficial aspects of the youth culture. Focus on building a solid foundation that will serve you for years. Motivation won't always be there, so build the discipline now because even though motivation takes you to the top, only discipline can keep you there.
Be in tune and take control. Don't allow social media or societal “norms” to control you.
Being an adult stresses me out, yet I look forward to the experiences and chance to grow.
This is so so nice, keep it up my girl❤️
