Nourishing Your Soul: Devotionals, the Bible, and Sermons - My Imperfect Journey

Let's get real for a second. I know I'm not the only one who struggles to prioritize my spiritual growth. Some days, I'm on top of it - devotionals, Bible reading, sermons... you name it. But other days? Forget about it. Life gets busy, and I forget. A lot.

But here's the thing: I know these things are important. I know they help me stay connected with God and live out my faith with purpose and passion. So, I wanted to share with you my favorite ways to nourish my soul, even if I don't do them perfectly.

Devotionals

I love starting my day with a devotional. It sets a positive tone and helps me focus on God. But, let's be real... some days I hit snooze and forget or just pick my phone and struggle to focus.

The Bible/Bible App

I know I should read my Bible more, but it's hard to stay consistent. I got a study Bible that works for me and so far it has been amazing. Alternatively, a Bible app works as well. It's like having a personal study assistant at my fingertips!

Sermons

Listening to sermons always inspires me to apply God's word to my life. But, I don't always make time for it. When i do, Pastor Stephanie Ike is my go-to amongst other blessed men of God

Here's the thing: I'm not perfect, and that's okay. I'm just trying to do better, one small step at a time.

Tips for Making the Most of Devotionals, the Bible, and Sermons (Even When You're Imperfect)

- Start small - try setting aside just 5 minutes a day for quiet time

- Find a devotional or Bible reading plan that works for you (even if it's not every day)

- Take notes and reflect on what you're learning (even if it's just a sentence or two)

- Share what you're learning with a friend or accountability partner (for encouragement and support)

Conclusion

Nourishing our souls with God's word is important, but it's not always easy. I'm not perfect, and that's okay. I'm just trying to do better, one small step at a time. Join me on this imperfect journey, and let's grow together!
